| So easy to use |

| I was slightly reticent to splash out on avalanche kit given the number of powder days I've had during the last 10 years of skiing in Europe (including a season): about 3. However, I'm really glad I did as St Anton provided a whole week of powder earlier this year! My 2 skiing buddies also had this model which was great for learning how to use them and really gives you that extra bit of confidence when out on the mountain. I'm not saying it's a carte blanche to go and ski like a twat on terrain that is dubious, but it's certainly reassuring. For example; my friend and I lucked into being at the top of the Mattun valley when they opened it for the first time that week and it was full of powder. I triggered a small avalanche half way down but fortunately didn't get caught up. Having the beacon was very calming, knowing that even on quite a shallow pitch, accessible area, my mate could still find me if the worst happened. The strap makes it easy to wear and the thing is so easy to use. Why over-complicate things if you're a 1-2 week a year skiier who is adventurous - you might get the best powder of your life and you'll be sorry you can't make the most of it for the sake of a small outlay that'll last you for years and years! | ||||||
