| Fast, Smooth and Big! |
|
| Having just got back into skating after about 3 years or so after finding the XC park only 5 minutes from my house I wanted to replace my old Powell Cab wheels for something newer smoother and faster.
Having got into pool skating at the XC I noticed that a lot of the other guys were flying round it with very little effort, on closer inspection one thing that they all had in common was bigger wheels, my old ones being 54mm.
So after some searching, review reading and opinion gathering I opted for these and I am really glad I did. They are indeed very smooth, very fast and very big! So big that I had to put in some riser pads.
In fact it did actually take me a little while to get over how big they look on my board (7.9"). But I have to say that not only does it make pool skating a lot easier but also general rolling around the park practically effortless in comparison to my old wheels.
One thing I will also mention which I was a little concerned about before I bought them is that they are not only good for concrete (as seems to be their focus from the Bones blurb and videos) but are also very good for wood too, although it is worth noting that being softer they are a bit stickier so you have to work harder for revert tricks, but they do produce a nice s
I would also recommend some Powell Red bearings to pair them up with as this completed the package for me.
