Semi rigid skateboard knee pads by Demon.

These semi rigid knee pads developed by Demon are perfect for skateboarding. Originally designed for snowboarding, in terms of stiffness and impact protection, they fall half way between typical hard shell SKATEBOARD KNEE PADS and the softer RUCANOR SUPER SMASH knee pads, originally designed for volleyball, which we also sell. Everything in life seems to be a compromise. With knee pads the softer they are, the more comfortable they tend to be but you do require some stiffness and rigidity to help spread the impact of a fall. With these knee pads, Demon seem to have got the balance just right!

These knee pads work really well as undercover padding, so long as your jeans aren't skin tight, you should be able to fit these pads underneath your clothes no worries.

  • Side cut outs to assist flex and bend
  • Open behind the knees for maximum comfort
  • Elasticated straps above and below the knee - no uncomfy velcro or all in one tube arrangements


Sizing

  • With a STRAIGHT leg, measure around your knee cap at the middle most point ie exactly where there is a crease in the skin.
  • Print a MEASURING TAPE  NB 1. The page will load slowly because it is a pdf. NB 2. Just before you confirm the 'print' instruction, please make sure the 'page scaling' on your printer settings is set to 'None'
  • Small = 29 to 35cm
  • Medium = 35 to 38cm
  • Large = 38 to 41cm
  • XL = 42 to 45cm

Thrilled!
After much discussion with my boarding friends about various brands I decided to take a chance on these knee guards. Boy, am I glad I did! They worked fantastically well and by all accounts were better than some of the more expensive brands. For one thing, they did not budge out of position all day, and they certainly soaked up the impact when I fell forward (which as a beginner I did A LOT!). The only slight problem was that as the straps are not adjustable (presumably so they stay in place), they tended to dig in a bit when my legs swelled with the heat. But to be honest that paled into insignificance as every part of me was aching anyway! LOL!
