The Free Rider Phantom is the perfect size for carrying a whole host of safety equipment including Snow Shovel, Probe, First aid, spare clothes or even your shopping when you get back into town and is the premium product among the free riders! The Phantom not only looks great, but also features numerous highlights, which add yet more value compared to other free-ride models. The outer material is incredibly textile and has a fine look and feel. The Phantom is the only free rider that provides, besides the side ski fastening, a diagonal attachment that allows the skis to be attached without removing the backpack. The waterproof extra compartment is also unique and protects documents and electronic items from moisture.
Common to all free riders is the integrated SPS back protector. It consists of five superimposed layers that effectively protect against back injuries. The protector is TÜV-certified and is held by the neoprene hip belt where it belongs: on the back.
The Free Rider has a body-like silhouette. Due to the close-fitting cut, it goes through every movement without developing its own momentum.
As additional features it includes snowboard and helmet fasteners, a special compartment for safety equipment, pick loops, cell phone/camera compartment and the alarm whistle for emergency situations.

Features Include:

  • Back Protector - Protects your back from injury effectively. Five sandwiched layers form the TÜV-certified protector. The neoprene hip belt fastens it and provides optimal fit with every movement. To ensure maximum protection, we offer different lengths for the protector, which constitute different volumes. 16 and 24 liters: 160 – 180 cm user height 18 and 26 liters: 175 – 190 cm user height 22 liters: 155 – 180 cm user height
  • Helmet Fastener - The backpack is delivered along with a helmet net. It is elastic and is mounted on the four fixtures – the helmet is very safely protected against loss and always at hand.
  • Pick loop - standard for Ortovox. The pick is wound in the loop, then the shaft is fixed via lockable elastic bands.
  • Sealed Zips - They keep moisture out and the contents dry.
  • Cell phone/Camera compartment -Thus you have camera and cell phone always at hand.
  • Hydration Compatible - Integrate a camelback or other hydration system into the backpack.
  • Alarm whistle - Is part of our safety package. If the voice fails, the whistle saves lives.
  • Backpack Polygiene - In order to combat odor-causing bacteria, we use Polygiene in the carrying system of our backpacks. A 100% natural silver compound.
  • Compression strap - By this you can reduce the backpack volume or attach additional gear externally.
  • Safety compartment - Red zip puller mark the safety compartment. It opens in seconds and includes fasteners for the shovel scoop, shaft and the probe.
  • Snowboard fastener - The snowboard fastener fixes boards on the backpack without reducing the wear comfort. The straps are easy to fix and allow a quick exchange of snowshoes and snowboards.
  • French ski fastener - To attach the skis to the backpack without having to put it down. The ends of the ski are pushed into a loop on the hip belt and then braced diagonally across the back. The skis do not slip and are immediately at hand – ideal for frequently changing terrain.
