All our bindings are suitable for any of the snowboards and boots featured on our website. We do not stock bindings for hard boots or for certain step-in systems which require specialist boots. This is because no-one uses these any more!
Step_in bindings allow you to step in or out of your bindings whilst standing up. They are hugely convenient because it is not so easy standing up once you have strapped a snowboard to your feet - which is what you need to do with traditional strap bindings. Many top riders use Flow step-in bindings but beginners like them too because they save a lot of effort and energy - getting on and off lifts, when having to walk your board along flat spots and when falling over a lot!
Some people prefer traditional strap bindings because they can be ratcheted up tight - giving you a more secure feeling than some older style step-in bindings.
Female specific bindings are very similar to male or unisex bindings. The sizing is normally exactly the same. The main difference tends to be the colours and graphics. Some manufacturers may make the hi-backs slightly shorter on their female models.
Male snowboard bindings can be ridden by women too - so have unisex appeal. The main difference is that male bindings tend to have more masculine colours, without pretty flowers!
Colour
Manufacturers come up with lots of fancy names for their colours, so we have consolidated them into the closest primary colours.
All snowboards apart from Burton use a 4 hole mounting system. Most Burton snowboards use a 3 hole system but some use a 2 screw track system called ICS.
These bindings will fit boards which use the industry standard 4 hole mounting system. The 4 hole system is used by all snowboard brands with the notable exception of Burton. Burton snowboards use either the Burton 3 hole system or the Burton ICS track..
These bindings will fit Burton snowboards using Burton's ICS track mounting system. Listed elsewhere we have more bindings which will also fit but which will require the purchase of a conversion disc to do so.
