Ski or snowboard gloves, offer slightly greater freedom of movement and dexterity than mittens but, to be honest, the advantage is minimal since you still really need to take your gloves off to do most things, like wiping your goggles, blowing your nose, tying your laces, etc.
Mitts require a less precise fit. Mitts are 50% warmer. Mitts more easily take liner gloves to keep you extra warm. If using disposable hand warmers - mitts are a much better idea.
- Liner Gloves4
Wear inside your regular gloves or mitts for an extra layer of warmth. Like double glazing for your hands. Also good for wearing out and about in the town.
Not suitable for skiing or snowboarding but great for keeping warm whilst out and about around town.
- Wrist Warmers8
Perfect for covering your wrist to prevent snow and cold air from etting up in between your jacket and gloves! Keep everything sealed in!
- Easy Access6
A zip runs across the top of the gloves, just behind the knuckles, allowing you to easily slip your hands in and out of the gloves without having to take them completely off. Using the C-Zip option minimises the risk of losing your gloves. On warmer days it's ideal for optimal ventilation, and after a day on the slopes simply unzip the gloves to let them dry, rather than turning them completely inside out, as air can flow more efficiently to the tips of the gloves.
- Heat Pack Pocket12
Some gloves have padding on the back of the hand or on the palm for extra protection. Not as good as a full-on wrist guard, but better than nothing!
- iPhone Friendly9
These gloves have special materials on the tips of certain fingers and thumbs to allow you to use your touch screen phone or other devices without taking your gloves off!
Glove retainers or 'idiot cords' as they're sometimes known are essential if you want to keep hold of your gloves! They attach around your wrist and inside the glove to stop you dropping them off the chair lift when you want to take your gloves off!
- Nose Wipe37
These gloves have a special nose wipe thumb material. It's a bit softer and more absorbant to wipe that runny nose on the chair lift!
- Goggle Wipe12
Simply a small squeedgy or pad that is built onto the finger of one glove to wipe spray and snow off your goggles!
- Removable Liner5
Some gloves will have a removable liner or a set of liner gloves. These add extra warmthe and can often be worn on their own around town and then inside the gloves for when it's freezing! Also great for easy washing so that you avoid the 'glove hand' smell!
- Wrist Guards1
Some gloves and mitts come with built in wrist guards so that you have good protection when you fall onto your hands, particulary important when learning to snowboard. These are usually removeable.
Gore-Tex is a top of the range waterproof but breathable membrane. Gloves with a Gore-Tex membrane ensure that your hands will stay nice and dry!

- All Season70
These are the gloves most people go for. A taditional Ski or Snowboard glove that has good insulation, waterproofing and as much dexterity as possible. Here you will find the warmest gloves we have!
- Early/Late Season10
These are ideal for those going away either early or late in the season when the weather is a bit warmer. They have a bit less insulation than a standard glove which allows for greater movement and won't leave your hands in a sweaty mess!
- Park & Pipe/Indoor3
These gloves are perfect for nailing that grab in the park as they are low profile and allow a great range of movement. They don't have a lot of insulation so are ideal for warmer days and when you're sweating in the park or the snow domes!
This is the cuff or gauntlet of the glove or mitt. It can either sit over your jacket cuff, giving greater water and snow protection, or under it giving a lower profile look.
These cuffs or 'gauntlets' sit over the cuff of your ski or snowboard jacket. This gives great protection from the cold and wet, allowing nothing to get inside!
These gloves have cuffs that go under you ski or snowboard jackets cuffs. This gives you a nice low profile look and if your jacket has adjustable cuffs, a nice tight seal from the cold and snow!
Materials used other than leather. Synthetic matiels can have very similar properties to leather, and greater benefits in certain situations. They often provide greater waterproof rating and durability at a lower price.
- Part Leather19
These are made partially with leather on the outside. Leather is used in areas where suppleness but durability is reuqired such as the palms and joint areas. Other materials are used on the rest of the glove to keep costs down.
- Full Leather7
These gloves and mitts are full leather on their outside. This means they are super supple and comfortable, as well as being durable and great looking!
