About the Edelrid Mega Jul Belay Kit

The Edelrid Mega Jul is a belay device which can also be used to abseil. Once you learn how to use it, many people never look back. Threaded as you would an ordinary belay device, the difference shines with its auto-locking feature to arrest your climber's fall. Other devices that auto-lock are waaay heavier, this piece of kit does just as well and is less bulky by far.

Feeding out rope to your leader is a fluid task with the Mega Jul and letting your partner down is even easier with the use of the green thumb loop. See the video for a visual explanation. You can also belay and lower your second in guide mode.
