It's pretty hard to make something new and exciting when it comes to ski poles, Atomic has given it its best shot with the Backland FR poles and the result is pretty interesting.
The Backland FR poles can be opened up to reveal a screwdriver. The telescopic nature of the pole allows the top section to be removed, this reveals two screwdrivers - a Philips and a flat head driver, one on each pole. These are the two standard screw types used on ski bindings, this is great for binding adjustment especially when you're in the backcountry away from the tool stations!
On the outside, these ski poles have all the features one could need in a pole. They are made of quality aluminum, have a grippy handle, and have an ergonomic strap. As these poles were designed with help from freeride legend Chris Benchetler they feature a beefy powder basket for off-piste pursuits.
The Backland FR poles are adjustable so can be set to any length between 110 and 135cm.
