Swiss-born and still proudly Swiss-made, SIGG has been crafting beautifully-designed and impeccably-made metal bottles, flasks & sustainable travel mugs for over a hundred years. Their "Original Swiss Bottle" was even featured in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
The history of SIGG Switzerland Bottles AG began back in 1908: Ferdinand Sigg, a metalworking specialist, returned to Switzerland after years of learning and travelling. Together with his friend Xaver Küng, he established an aluminium goods factory in Biel, founded on the belief that aluminium is the material of the future.

They made their name by creating the "Original Swiss Bottle" - an example of world-renowned design and manufacturing performance that was eventually rewarded with introduction into the prestigious Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City in 1993. In the same year, SIGG produces its first design collection and transforms an already functional product into a coveted fashion accessory and collectors' item.

With that, the course for the future of the Classic Swiss Bottle was set: SIGG developed a new shape that is still typical of today’s 0.5 and 0.75-litre bottles. The bottle body was still plain, yet the quality achieved the same high level as today.

SIGG not only stands for quality and perfection, but also for environmental awareness. Since the beginning of the company’s history, the founders of the Swiss aluminium goods factory SIGG have been interested in using excess material from production and thus using resources sparingly: the SIGG bottle was born – its production and design unchanged ever since.
