Stepchild Snowboards has been setting the standard in urban snowboarding since day one. Owner and Pro Snowboarder JP Walker was the first to bring street features to the snowboarding scene in the early 90's and continues to progress the sport to this day.
In the year 2000, when ex pro snowboarder Sean Johnson and shred buddy Brad Richmond decided to start their own company, the aim was simple - to make snowboards that were durable enough to ride the streets, and yet still be fun to cruise the whole mountain on. Having achieved this and with great success they then proceeded to sign one of the most influential street riders snowboarding has ever seen, JP Walker. Upon singing, JP was so stoked on the boards that he invested his own money in the company and today Stepchild produces some of the best snowboards on the market.

Always looking to progress the sport Stepchild boasts an impressive team with talent such as Joe Sexton and Simon Chamberlain, both considered by many to be two of the best street riders around. Both have signature models with Stepchild, as does JP who continues to put out an amazing video section every year, consistently pushing himself and the sport. Helping to nurture and promote young talent, Stepchild also has an amazing AM team including Brandon Hobush, Eman and Layne Treeter.
