The Kalahari's supportive footbed is designed from sustainable cork, providing natural insulation and cushioning. A microfibre insole is soft and gentle on the skin and adjusts to the foot's contours without compromising on breathability.
Birkenstock, the original creators of the footbed, have poured their focus into creating a comfortable and supportive footbed that promotes health and wellbeing. The footbed's deep heel cup supports the foot's tissue and holds the heel bone firmly in its natural position, providing nearly as much support as a closed shoe.
The heel mould activates the calf muscle, stabilising the back of the foot and improving your gait and coordination. Longitudinal arch supports run alongside the sides of the footbed, surrounding the tarsal bones inside and out whilst the transverse arch support, that runs through the middle of the footbed, stabilises the metatarsal bone. The footbed's toe grip ensures your toes remain loose and spread out in their natural position whilst the footbed edge protects the toes during the rolling motion of the foot, for optimal walking comfort.
A skin-friendly synthetic Birko-Flor® PVC upper is lined with breathable and soft fleece for durable, long lasting comfort whilst individual adjustable hook and loop fasteners on the sandal's three straps ensure the perfect fit for all day comfort.
