About the Black Crows Corvus
Originating from Chamonix, Black Crows skis are centered around the alpine and mountaineering lifestyle, the Corvus skis have been living up to Black Crow's vision of skiing perfection ever since the companies formation.
The 2021 Corvus has a directional shape and a rockered profile, this results in a powerful ski which excels at freeride, in all senses of the term. The waist width comes in at a 107mm underfoot, which allows the Corvus skis to power through soft and variable snow. The rocker profile and a flat section undefoot creates a perfect blend of flotation and ease of pivot. Having a flat section underfoot also also helps to provide easy engagement and grip on piste, and a long turn radius means it will be easy to initiate cruising turns. A single piece of carefully chosen poplar is at the heart of the ski and provides stability and power. This core is wrapped in a double metal laminates specially selected to improve response and durability.
Black Crows recommend the Corvus skis mainly for big mountain use, but they will also perform on steeps and are light enough that they can be used for touring. If you spend most of your time away from the trails, looking for technical terrain, deep powder stashes, open bowls or untouched snow, then the Corvus skis will be a perfect companion for your alpine pursuits!
- Full Rocker Profile - Rocker in the tip gives float in soft snow and makes the skis easier to handle, whist a slightly raised tail gives versitilty. Camber underfoot gives performance and grip on hard snow
