About the Black Crows Orb Birdie
The Orb is a long-standing member of the Black Crows lineup, at a relatively slender 88mm underfoot, the Orb is definitely one of the more piste and hardpack-oriented skis in the Black Crows range. It's packed full of construction and technology to make it a powerful, aggressive, hard-charging bird.
The majority of the ski employs traditional camber, ensuring maximum stability and edge hold on tap. The tip and tail are shaped for a versatile and maneuverable rockered tip partnered with a slightly raised tail that just eases turn exit while still lending the ski a powerful traditional alpine feel.
The Orb has a strong and responsive flex, due in no small part to double H shaped titanal laminate - this gives the ski uncompromising stability even at very high speeds, and allows for a very smooth ride quality even when fresh corduroy turns to variable and choppy conditions later in the day- the Orb will cut straight through it!
Semi-cap construction helps the ski stay versatile- sidewall along the midsection of the ski add even more to the superb stability, but cap over the tips and tails work perfectly with the rocker profile to allow playful turn shapes.
The Orb from Black Crows is definitely worth a look at for any all mountain skier who knows they'll be spending plenty of time charging pistes, chop and shallow soft snow and leaving everyone else in their wake!
