About the Black Diamond Drop Zone

The BD Drop Zone is a taco-style pad which means it offers a landing zone that is consistent throughout without folds or hinges in between to create weaker points. The Drop Zone is a solid pad with closed closed-cell PE foam on top and high-compression PU foam on the bottom - making up 9cm (3.5") of adaptable padding to absorb falls on varying terrain.

At Black Diamond, innovation never stops, and the newly updated Drop Zone Pad has built upon the success of the original to make it even better. Worry not, it's still kept all the features that made it so popular with climbers to begin with and these new added touches make it even better.

Improved buckles are even more durable and easier to use, and the new suspension system will provide comfort while you carry it. New squared corners give optimal coverage for extra security so you can be sure of your safety.

The Black Diamond Drop Zone is a mid-sized bouldering mat, thanks to its size and durable finish, it has quickly earned the prestige of being used as boulderer's go-to pad for most short to medium projects. For bolder higher problems, the Drop Zone makes a great stacker.

For transportation, the Drop Zone comes with an elastic mesh flap which is secured with hooking buckles, climbing gear can be sandwiched between the taco for hands-free approaches. Shoulder straps and two side grab handles make life easier too.

Abrasion resistance is covered with a PU-coated 1000D Nylon over the top and sides of the pad whilst a rubber-coated bottom adds extra friction on slippery terrain.
