About the Black Diamond Helio Recon 105

The Recon is from Black Diamond's flagship Helio backcountry ski range. It's the ski they describe as the ideal daily driver for the dedicated backcountry skier who needs high performance and low weight, and they aren't wrong.

A poplar wood core provides the durability and consistent flex but keeps the weight down, whilst dampening technology keeps your ride smooth and powerful.

ABS sidewalls add to the stiff flex and lend a stable feel along the whole ski. A rockered profile with camber underfoot and a medium turning radius offer maximum edge hold where you need it and float in deep snow. The beveled shape of the sidewall helps with deflection and durability.

The whole package is rounded off with early rise tip & tails for a nimble, maneuverable ride and plenty of float in powder.

This is a ski for the backcountry or touring skier who wants top of the range performance in a lightweight package!

- Included Bindings - Marker Kingpin 13 100-125mm (Black/Red) -

The Kingpin 13 from Marker introduces a new age in Tech-style AT bindings. For the skier who wants to hike fresh backcountry lines Marker have created a binding that offers the power and security of a standard alpine downhill binding with the lightweight, performance driven construction of a Tech-style binding.

The Kingpin's Ultralight Tech carbon rails and hot-forged aluminium parts keep the weight to a lean 670g. The PinTech climbing system means the heel-piece doesn't rise with the foot, reducing lifting weight in ascent while the easy to use integrated climbing aids offer a range of three positions to help reduce fatigue over mountain terrain.

Six high-performance steel springs, instead of the conventional four, give the toe-piece greater energy absorption for more reliable hold and a greater degree of power transmission and unlike the two-pin heel hold offered by other Tech-style bindings the Kingpin heel takes its design from alpine downhill bindings. All this gives you a unique, high-quality 'PinTech' binding, allowing you to tackle the most challenging of terrain with confidence. The Marker Kingpin 13 -- hail to the Kingpin!

*The Kingpin is designed to work with AT style boot systems. It is compatible with almost all touring ski boots featuring PinTech inserts and satisfying DIN ISO Norm 9523.
