The Swift Ice Axe is Black Diamond's toughest classic mountaineering ice tool. As the only piolet in their range to carry a T (Technical) rating, it brings state of the art construction and a technical profile to the traditional mountaineering tool.

This excellent hybrid axe combines the classic curved head of a general mountaineering axe with an ergonomic shaft like those more regularly seen on technical axes, meaning it's well suited to varied ascents. With it's strong, sleek shaft ending in a robust spike, this versatile tool will plunge just as well as any alpine axe, but it's curved profile is more than capable of handling technical ice sections and varied climbs. A FlickLock™ adjustable pommel provides ample hand support and a secure levered swing on those tougher sections. The hot forged stainless steel head penetrates tough ice and snow conditions for a steady and secure hold, and it's classical curved pick shape will perform in any self-arrest situation.
