About the Burton Cartographer

The Burton Cartographer Snowboard blends big mountain stability and all-mountain maneuverability that lets you explore mixed terrain and ride out big lines when the conditions are right. Its stiff nose blasts through chunder, while modest taper and overall medium flex keep it playful in the pow.

The Cartographer is a directional board and features Directional Camber which consists camber under both feet for stability through deep-diving turns and variable conditions and a rockered nose that adds lift for increased float. Burton have given the Cartographer a 5mmm taper making for easy turning, providing the feel and focus of a directional board without anything holding you back from riding it like a twin.

Burton have used their Super Fly 800G Core; a dual-species wood core that is loaded with pop and alternates between hard and softwoods to reduce overall weight without limiting performance. Dualzone EGD engineered wood grain has been positioned along the toe and heel edges on two continuous zones perpendicular to the core for more edge-hold, response, and strength. Finally, Triax Fibreglass has been used to provide versatile flex and response.

The sintered base is durable and highly porous, providing added durability and superior wax absorption for greater overall glide.

Features Include
  • Dualzone™ EGD™ - Wood grain is positioned along the toe and heel edges on two continuous zones, perpendicular to the rest of the wood core, for consistent edge-hold and added strength.
  • Triax Fibreglass with Carbon I-Beam™ - Three directionals of fibreglass to keep things solid with the addition of a Carbon Beam running from tip to tail to keep that longitudinal responsive that you have been asking for.
  • Sintered WFO base - The pores of the wood are larger meaning that it holds onto wax longer.
  • The Channel - Rather than using a 4x4 system, Burton have introduced the Channel. A system which allows you to fully adjust your stance width and angles. Your bindings will have to be compatible with the Channel and conversion discs can be bought separately. Burton offer a 3 year warranty on all boards with the Channel.
