About the Burton Deep Thinker

The Burton Deep Thinker snowboard is based on the legendary Custom board and has been given with some serious upgrades by Burton team rider Danny Davis. This poppy, pow-friendly directional cambered all-mountain freestyle/freeride snowboard devours the piste, deep snow, and whatever else you can throw at it.

The Deep Thinker has a medium/stiff flexing, directional shape, and an awesome Directional traditional camber profile. With its Super Fly 2™ Core and Dualzone EGD™, the board is ready for anything and will zip past most with its Sintered WFO base.

45° Carbon Highlights add to the responsiveness created in the core and the Frostbite Edges will keep you locked in when turning. Squeezebox is added to energize any pressure you put through for pop, and of course, it comes with Burton's Pro-Tip™ which shaves off excess weight. The pure pop camber has all the response and pop of traditional camber with an early rise and flat sections out to the tip and tail to raise the contact points and add a playful element.

Overall this board is great for anybody who likes to snowboard with an open mind. With a more forgiving camber contour, it is good for those taking their first steps onto a positive camber snowboard and tonnes of pop make it ideal for adventurous riders who like to hit kickers and transitions and want the stability and response that a camber board provides.

The Deep Thinker is right at home in those steep and deep powder fields but can hold its own in the park if you happen to find yourself there. A true all-rounder!

Features Include
  • Super Fly 2™ 700G Core with Dualzone EGD™ - Stronger and lighter woods target specific areas of the core to provide pop, strength and reduced weight. Dualzone™ EGD™ brings two separate zones of wood grain which is perpendicular to the core adjacent to the channel which gives you awesome edge control.
  • 45° Carbon Highlights - Carbon highlights optimize each layer of the fibreglass matrix and adds a full tip-to-tail carbon layer to reduce weight and fine tune torsional feel to achieve a more aggressive ride.
  • Frostbite Edges - Frostbite edges create grip as the edge sticks out a little bit more under the bindings to grip in icier conditions. This acts to provide supreme edge hold when needed but is forgiving when not needed.
  • Squeezebox - Angled to optimize the use of freestyle riders' bindings, a wavy core is included which is thicker and carbon-infused at the beginning and end of the channel which are the areas that take all the pressure when loading up on an ollie. The thickness adds more snap which will lead to a more responsive pop.
  • Pro-Tip™ - Pro-Tip™ trims the thickness in the tip and tail reducing weight to make it easier to spin.
  • Sintered WFO Base - The pores of the wood are larger meaning that it holds onto wax longer to create a long-lasting glide and a fast ride.
  • Infinite Ride™ - Overbuilding the board and then using a machine to break the board in meaning it's ready to ride as soon as you get it and will last season after season.
  • The Channel - Rather than using a 4x4 system, Burton have introduced the Channel. A system which allows you to fully adjust your stance width and angles. Your bindings will have to be compatible with the Channel and conversion discs can be bought separately. Reducing the interference caused by mounting bindings, your snowboard can flex more naturally.
  • Directional Shape - The classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while providing plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or condition.
  • 7mm Taper - Makes for easy turning, providing the feel and focus of a directional board without anything holding you back from riding it like a twin.
  • Directional Camber Bend - Has camber under both feet for stability through deep-diving turns and variable conditions and a rockered nose that adds lift for increased float.
  • Directional Flex - Increased pop in the tail and a more resilient nose that allows riders to easily maintain control through all terrain and conditions.
