About the Burton Family Tree Sensei

The 2021 Burton Family Tree Sensei snowboard is a product of the highly sought after Family Tree line and has been designed in collaboration with Japanese powder riding legend Masanori Takeuchi (aka Masa).

Made using premium materials and a whole host of tech to keep it super strong, light, and fast, the Sensei uses Burton's Channel system to keep you locked to the board. The Channel offers complete freedom for you to set up your angles and stance width with no restrictions. Burton tests The Channel to the limit and has proven that it can hold twice the amount of force that is set by the governing body.

With a Dragonfly 600G Core, the Sensei creates a floaty, but snappy feel whereas the Multizone EDG uses end-grain woods in high impact zones for a lighter weight that doesn't sacrifice strength. Burton have used Directional Flex in the Sensei, with increased pop in the tail and a more resilient nose that allows riders to easily maintain control through all terrain and conditions.

The Sensei utilizes Burton's camber profile which powerful turns and poppy precision, offering snappy suspension with weight distributed evenly across the entire board for smooth, continuous edge control from tip to tail. This has been combined with a Freeride directional shape that features a setback camber and a sidecut that is centred on your stance to create a twin freestyle stance when riding flat base, while on edge it turns tight and quick with the float and prowess of a directional deck.

To make sure you keep going and take to the skies, the Sensei comes with a full WFO sintered base which will keep you going good and fast all season.

The Sensei's long, narrow shape serves up a surf-inspired feel for riding deep snow and steep terrain.

Features Include
  • Multizone™ EGD™ - End-grain woods in impact zones for lighter weight that doesn't sacrifice strength
  • 45 Carbon Fibreglass - Layers of carbon fibreglass throughtout the core profile create a super strong, light and responsive board feel
  • Balanced Freeride Geometry with Pro-Tip™ - Setback camber with your setback stance meaning it feels like a twin but rides like a directional. Pro-Tip™ trims the thickness in the tip and tail reducing weight.
  • Sintered WFO base - The pores of the wood are larger meaning that it holds onto wax longer.
  • Infinite Ride™ - Overbuilding the board and then using a machine to break the board in meaning its ready to ride as soon as you get it and will last season after season.
  • Super Sap Epoxy - A bio based resin that reduces the carbon footprint by 50% compared to conventional epoxies
  • The Channel - Rather than using a 4x4 system, Burton have introduced the Channel. A system which allows you to fully adjust your stance width and angles. Your bindings will have to be compatible with the Channel and conversion discs can be bought separately. Burton offer a 3 year warranty on all boards with the Channel.
