About the Burton Malavita Re:Flex
The Malavita Re: Flex Snowboard Bindings are Burton's high-end freestyle bindings used by superpipe legend Danny Davis.
With a Single Component baseplate made of a 30% short glass and nylon composite, the Malavita creates a flexible base allowing the board to move as it's made. Lighter and more responsive than Burton's 18% composite, the baseplate is still playful enough to rock all over the mountain.
A Canted Living Hinge design on the Malavita's highback increases riding comfort and response by aligning to a natural leg angle. This reduces stress on the knees and ankles, increasing the amount of power transmission by ensuring pressure is immediately transferred from rider to board.
Burton has done away with excess weight in their highback, featuring a Zero Forward Lean for a playful, free-flowing ride. The DialFLAD (forward lean adjuster) allows to crank them forward anytime anyplace, for increased response and precision.
The Malavita also features Burton's Heel Hammock which reduces unwanted vibration for a smoother ride, generating increased power transmission for better response. Stitch-free nylon mesh Hammock Straps feature a pre-curved 3D shape to naturally and comfortably mold to the boot, ensuring a ride free from pressure points or compromised fit.
The built-in Nylon spine retains board response by giving a more direct connection. Because the strap is asymmetrical, it can be ridden normally for power and support or flipped around for added freedom. The strap also features a 'Flex Slider' which hinges fully and falls flat out the way for quick and easy step-in. The Malavita's Supergrip Capstrap toe straps are also lightweight and softer with superior grip, boot wrap, and comfort.
