About the Burton Ripcord

The Burton Ripcord snowboard is ideal for all newcomers. Its forgiving nature and Easy Bevel edges accelerate the progression curve and boost confidence.

The Ripcord employs Burton's Flat Top base profile which involves a flat, zero camber section between the feet and rocker sections outside. This is combined with a soft flex and Burton's Easy Bevel, a slightly convex base that lifts the edges off the snow. These features allied with a soft flex make the ripcord incredibly forgiving of any errors and make it difficult to catch and edge, allowing you to progress your technique without being painfully punished for any errors along the way.

The Ripcord comes with Burton's most durable FSC certified Fly 900G core which uses two different wood species in a full tip-to-tail core that is 10% lighter than previous cores but with a greater strength-to-weight ratio. This core also comes with tons of pop and a smooth consistent flex that you only get from full wood cores.

Added to this is Squeezebox Low which profiles the core with thicker and thinner sections. This gives stiffer zones just outside the feet and thinner sections between the feet which gives the board a softer flex with more direct energy transfer. This means the Ripcord is super lively but incredibly easy to ride, aiding progression through better balance and improved board control.

Soft and forgiving yet stable and responsive, the Ripcord is the most fun and affordable way to progress your riding.

Features Include
  • FSC Certified Fly 900G Core - Burton's classic tip-to-tail wood core that utilizes the best of two wood species to lighten the load by 10% without sacrificing flex, pop, or strength
  • Squeezebox Low Core Profiling - Improves pop and performance through the balance of thicker, more powerful core sections with thinner, more flexible sections. Rider energy is transferred outward from beneath the feet, energizing the tip and tail while making the board snappier, more stable, and easier to manipulate
  • Pro-Tip - A tapered tip and tail thickness reduces swing weight for easier mobility
  • Biax Fibreglass - Features a jib-friendly, torsionally soft flex and forgiving, easy to ride board
  • Extruded Base - Durable and ready to take any abuse you can throw at it, this extruded base is nice and fast and easy to maintain
  • Super Sap Epoxy - A bio based resin that reduces the carbon footprint by 50% compared to conventional epoxies
  • The Channel - Rather than using a 4x4 system, Burton have introduced the Channel system which allows you to fully adjust your stance width and angles. Your bindings will have to be compatible with the Channel and conversion discs can be bought separately. Burton offer a 3-year warranty on all boards with the Channel
  • Infinite Ride - Burton break the board in at the factory so it rides the same on day 1 as it does on day 100
  • Directional Shape - The classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while providing plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or condition
  • 5mm Taper - Makes for easy turning, providing the feel and focus of a directional board without anything holding you back from riding it like a twin
  • Flat Top Bend - Provides stability, balance, and continuous edge control helping the tip and tail kick up for a catch-free and loose riding experience
  • Easy Bevel - Gives riders an incredibly soft and forgiving board with super soft flex and a convex base that lifts the edges off the snow, making it virtually impossible to catch an edge
  • Directional Flex - Features increased pop in the tail and a more resilient nose that allows riders to easily maintain control through all terrain and conditions
