A deep rope basket will allow for smoother rope action whilst extra metal placed at the nose of the biner adds extra protection against accidental gate opening when the biner brushes against the rock. Its offset wire evens out the load and also contributes to reducing the risk of the gate opening.
The Spectre 2 biners are constructed with I-Beam construction to reduce weight while retaining a strength of 24kN when closed.
With the six-pack of assorted Spectre colour biners, you can either colour code your quickdraws for easy identification of different lengths or use them to rack your cams, they come in common cam colourways so even if you don't have DMM cams this practice still applies.
