About the DPS Cassiar 95 Tour1

Back for 2019, the Cassiar 95 Tour1 from DPS is a go-anywhere, do anything ski built for effortless ascents and powerful downhill charging.

Since 2005 DPS have produced some of the most advanced skis on the market, with a dedication to quality, longevity and performance in all products, and this most certainly applies to their touring models. The Cassiar 95 places focus on light weight and powerful performance, for easy climbing and a confident descent. After all, why expend energy on a tough uphill journey, only to have a under-responsive ski on the way down?

This is where DPS’ state-of-the-art carbon Tour1 core construction really comes into play. A lightweight balsa wood core is sandwiched between two hybrid pre-preg carbon and fibreglass laminates running the length of the ski. The aerospace grade carbon fibre is ultra lightweight and ultra-strong, and lends the ski torsional stability and rigidity while maintaining a good amount of flex, to give a stable and consistent ride on the most variable terrain. The durability of carbon fibre is second to none, so the ski will retain it’s flex pattern, shape and pop through many seasons of hard use.

All of this technology is packed into the DPS Cassiar chassis to make a truly versatile ski which will go anywhere and do anything. The Cassiar family are all-mountain skis designed to perform just as well on hardpack piste as they do in deep powder. A flat tail design allows for full contact along the entire edge of the ski, meaning superior edge hold on any kind of snow. Radial sidecut allows for maximum power transfer from boot to ski to edge, so you lay down long carves or quick snappy turns with ease.

Here you have a ski which not only prioritises quick and easy uphill touring and stable back country descents, but will also perform anywhere on the mountain, inside or outside the ropes. While the core construction is certainly geared towards touring, a 95 millimetre waistline means that this ski will handle anything from hardpack groomers and choppy moguls to unstable crud and tight tree runs.

This pairing of touring construction and all-mountain shaping makes for a powerful, consistent ride on any and all terrain. If you want to trek to the summit the morning, float through powder before lunch and then carve up the pistes in the afternoon, then the 2019 DPS Cassiar 95 Tour1 is the go-anywhere ski you’re looking for.
