The Faction CT 1.0 is a symmetrical twin-tip freestyle ski for park domination. At 92 mm, this ski features the narrowest waist in the Candide Thovex Signature series. This model is built for those riders who want park, pipe, urban, and hard snow perfection.
Durability is one of the key things to look for in a park ski; rails and hard landings offer up a beating that a great freestyle ski should be able to effortlessly brush off. Watch any of Candide's videos and you'll see that Faction build their gear to last! The CT 1.0 features XL edges to handle heavy rail use, and underfoot reinforcement to take the sting out of hard landings. The topsheet rolls slightly over the sidewall to protect this high stress join area.
The CT1.0 has a traditional camber, fully symmetrical shape. The camber gives grip and pop, this acts as the engine to help the ski launch off kickers and safely hop onto rails, whilst also providing the bite needed to charge the groomers. Perfect symmetry results in balanced rotations and accurate switch riding.
Built with a full sidewall construction, the flex comes in on the firmer end of the scale. The core consists of a playful wood combination of poplar and beech, this gives a rebound and strong platform for riding at high speeds. Sidewalls help disperse vibration and give strong grip at speed and on hard snow. Tactically placed Carbon increases strength to ensure you can feel confident riding into the biggest of features.
Despite the strong core and firm flex, the tip & tail, are surprisingly playful. This is a ski that is highly maneuverable and capable of being pushed into presses and butters around the hill.
If you're looking for a freestyle ski to help you go bigger & better in the park, look no further than the Faction CT 1.0, after all if it's good enough for Candide...
Full Sandwich Construction - Fibreglass above and below the core gives a smooth consistent flex without adding extra weight
Poplar/Beech Core - A great blend of response and smooth, consistent flex only found with full wood cores
Sidewall construction - Sidewalls are stable, strong and give great grip
Symmetrical Shape - Identical dimensions at tip and tail allow the ski to ride, takeoff and land consistently both forwards and switch
Carbon Reinforcement - Carbon reinforcement underfoot absorbs shock on landings for a super stable feel as well as improving durability
Die-Cut PTEX 3000 - This sintered base material is fast and is more porous than other materials so holds wax better
XL 2.5 mm Edges - Extra thick edges to give durability against rocks and park features
320 mm Tip Rocker / 285 mm Tail Rocker (178) - Twin rocker profile aids turn initiation and improves ski performance forwards or switch, catch-free on rails and easy butter initiation
3 mm camber - Excellent edge grip & stability, huge pop for clearing jumps and rails and snappy rebound out of turns
Matte EC4060 topsheet - These topsheets do not require lacquering, this saves about 100g a pair, it also reduces the use of lacquer, so is a better topsheet for the environment
Anti-chip Micro-Cap - The topsheet rolls over to meet the sidewall, this protects the fragile join area that can often be prone to chipping
