About the Gentemstick Drifter

The 2020 Gentemstick Drifter snowboard is a classic-modern hybrid board that's born by fusing the outline of a classic freeride board from the early 80's and Taro Tamai's original baseline. A flat camber and a longer nose provides natural float in the board in even the deepest conditions.

Gentemstick boards originated in the powder-heavy lands of Niseko, Japan are the brain-child of legendary snowboarder and a surfer Taro Tamai. The board shapes often take heavy inspiration from the retro snowboards of the 1980's along with modern surfboards, offering riders a floaty, surfy ride that feels like nothing you have experienced before. These uniquely designed snowboards boast true ingenuity and legendary craftsmanship from Japan.

This snowboard features Gentemstick's Flat Camber, which features flat throughout, before going into an early rise in the nose. This camber system came from the skiing know-how and was adopted and refined by Gentemstick to match their flat camber system in order to allow more freedom of maneuverability in complex three-dimensional terrain. The weightless sensation when making a top-turn and resistance-free riding, especially late in a turn, are the distinct characteristics of this flat camber system.

The Drifter is versatile enough you can happily carve down the piste with ease and have the time of your life in the powder. Riders will be able to draw sharp & edgy roundhouse cutback carves before dashing back up to the lip for round two. The Drifter is a downsizable board that performs beyond all expectations.
