The G14 New Matic Crampon from Grivel gives you an efficient, rigid/semi-rigid alpine crampon with a simple design that fits a wide range of footwear; from adult down to junior sizes. The low profile keeps the foot closer to the rock or ice giving you greater control while the forged points make short work of hard ice.
Tool free adjustment makes it quick and convenient to use, with the Cramp-O-Matic rear bale and lever system working with a hinged front Zytel Dupont hardened plastic harness to cup the toe. A single strap adjustment secures the crampon in place.
Underfoot, up to twelve Chromolly steel points provide traction over icy routes while a multi-ply stainless steel flex regulation bar works like suspension, providing dynamic movement that allows the crampon to flex with the foot as you climb.
The modular design allows for the replacement of worn front spikes with the added bonus of choosing a single or dual front point set-up to suit the discipline and style.
The G14 New Matic features Grivel's Antibott system (as can be seen in the video). This pro-active, anti-ball plate design works to prevent the build-up of wet snow and ice underfoot, which can otherwise render the crampon's grip ineffective and lead to slips and falls.
The low weight makes them great for the fast moving alpinist negotiating challenging ascents on back-country ski tours or mountaineering expeditions.
The two parts are designed to fit together - points inward - to be stowed safely when not in use. Package includes the Grivel Accordion - a patented sleeve that fits over the central adjustment bar to prevent ice build up in wet snow conditions.
The Grivel G14 New Matic Crampon delivers durable construction with a customizable design to give you a product you can rely on to help get you to the top and back again.
