About the Grivel LightMachine & Easy Slider

Grivel's Light Machine Ice Axe with Easy Slider leash is designed with the technical alpinist in mind. The performance construction features a single piece, hot forged steel pick with a tapered 3mm tip for greater penetration on tough ice. The Light Machine's modular design allows you to replace worn blades and/or change from shovel/adze to hammer.

A gentle curve just below the head allows greater clearance in tight spots and permits easier anchoring in varied terrain. The hot forged base point penetrates tough snow conditions for anchor points and offers support on approaches. An ergonomic shaft utilises a rubber grip for added traction and comfort.

The Easy Slider Leash gives you an adjustable leash and hand rest. Positioned at the tail end of the shaft it can be used to support and protect the hand from impacts against the wall. At the top end of the ice axe - in walking mode - it aids support to the hand during placement.

The elasticated 'spring' system secures your ice tool to your climbing harness; providing unrestricted movement by allowing full reach for pick placement while retracting to a compact size when not required. The leash ensures that you won't lose your axe should it become separated from your hand.

From the winter Highlands to spring in the San Juans, the Grivel Light Machine Ice Axe gives you technical climbing performance in under 500 grams with the benefit of a modular design.
