The 2021 Jones Frontier snowboard is a directional freeride board designed to be the perfect daily driver for the playful all-mountain shredder. Featuring a floaty, freeride nose matched with a freestyle tail, the Frontier is ideal for pow days, park days and anything in between.
With a sintered 8000 base the Frontier boasts a super fast base that compliments the edge hold and performance of the additional contact points from Traction Tech 2.0 to ensure you don't wash on changing snow conditions.
The Frontier has been fitted with Jones Spoon 1.0 3D Base Contour technology. This tech has been designed to smooth out your edge-to-edge transfers, making your initial turns feel more like that of a smooth surfboard. This tech is designed to benefit freeriders, improving your board in three main areas: Glide, Flow and Float helping you ride even faster in deep pow!
With Jones' Classic Core in combination with biaxial fibreglass, the Frontier will feel very responsive that's still fun and forgiving with plenty of pop. This construction also makes the board incredibly durable so you can invest in this deck knowing it's going to last.
The Directional Rocker camber profile uses rocker in the tips and traditional camber under foot with a directional shape to ensure the board floats well in deep snow whilst also performing amazingly on piste too. If that wasn't enough, the progressive sidecut makes the board smooth, predictable and responsive when carving on the piste or putting in huge turns in powder.

- Blunt Nose - Reduces swing weight to improve turning and rotations whilst reducing drag in deep snow
- 3D Base Contour 1.0 - Subtle yet effective 3D Contour Base featuring an even balance of 2mm spoon bevel in the nose and 2mm spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts just after the rocker point
- Progressive sidecut - At the far ends of the sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition
- Traction Tech 2.0 - Improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of your board. features three bumps per edge (front binding, board center, back binding)
- FSC Classic Core - Full wood premium poplar core that offers fun pop, even flex and solid durability
- Eco-Plastic Topsheet - Bio-plastic topsheet made from Castor beans. This eco-material is ultralight, chip/scratch resistant and water/snow repellent (snow sticks less to topsheet)
- Biax Fibreglass - A dual-direction, dual-layer, stitched fiberglass laminate that provides a fun, forgiving and snappy ride
- Oversized Recycled Edges - All Jones boards are made with oversized recycled steel edges for added durability and improved production sustainability
- Recycled Black ABS Sidewalls - ABS Plastic is one of the necessary evils of snowboard production. Jones improve the sustainability of their snowboards by using only recycled plastic
- Sintered 8000 Base - Super durable material made from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) and carbon. Base is easily repairable, highly wax absorbent and wicked fast
- Wend Natural Wax - Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with WEND natural wax
- Bio Resin - All Jones boards are now built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy
- Factory Tuned - All Jones Snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go right from the shop to the mountains

Awesome all-mountain freeride board for doing anything
This board is pretty great for doing anything. Great on groomers and you can carve well with it, despite the fact it has some rocker in the nose. Edge holds really well. The float is amazing and its flex is near enough middle-ish so you can butter and press reasonably easily! Jones boards are generally mostly just freeride focussed but this one is all-purpose enough whilst still retaining great freeride and carving capabilities that it would be useful for anyone. I started with this board after 4 days of lessons in a dome (rode it on my first days on the mountain!) and didn't think it was too much for me. Recommended highly!
