About the Jones Mind Expander
The Mind Expander from Jones was created by legendary surf shaper Chris Christenson along with snowboard legend Jeremy Jones. The Mind Expander has been designed to be a precise and fluid ride for the creative modern-day rider who blends freeride and freestyle into their everyday riding. Built to slash, spin, stomp, surf, or simply shred, this stick will keep you on top of the snow no matter how far out you are.
An amalgamation of previous board designs the blunted and squared-off nose with full-size tail offers the rider the nimble maneuverability of the Hovercraft matched with the freestyle abilities of the Mountain Twin. A combination of two of the most iconic boards in the Jones line.
The Surf Rocker camber profile is a custom tip/tail shape designed by Chris Christenson. The nose rocker starts just inside of the front inserts and the tail rocker starts at the back inserts, so when you sick your weight into the back tail the nose ramps up out of the snow for incredible float in the deep pow! This profile uses the exact same dimensions as Chris Christensons surfboard, no wonder it surfs through powder with ease!
The Mind Expander features an extremely durable base to handle the change of snow conditions when you are out on the mountain and Traction Tech 2.0 will ensure you have all the grip needed when conditions change, even on the iciest of faces. The 3D Base Contour 3.0 shape smooths out your edge-to-edge transfers, making your turns fluid, perfect for pow riding.
A triple-density Bamboo Surf Core utilizes a combination of paulownia stringers and bamboo stringers for better edge response providing power in your turns. With the added Progressive Sidecuts the board rides smoothly, also adding extra response when carving on the piste or turning in powder.
To make the Mind Expander more fun and forgiving, Jones has added Biax Fibreglass and the Flax/Basalt Stringers to aid in torsional response giving you that extra power on your edges. Furthermore, the composite Flax/Basalt Stringer will also help to reduce board chatter, absorbing those unwanted vibrations and ensuring you hold that line during fast rides down the mountain.
The board of the future, aimed at all creative riders in all conditions. The Mind Expander is best suited for intermediate to advanced riders, but progressing beginners will have no problem riding this versatile board, having just as much fun as the pros! Fun and adventure are the game, this snowboard will take you to new places you never thought possible.

- Blunt Nose - Reduces swing weight to improve turning and rotations whilst reducing drag in deep snow
- 3D Base Contour 3.0 - Freeride focused 3D Contour Base featuring a 7mm of spoon bevel in the nose and 0 to 7mm of spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts at the rocker point
- Progressive sidecut - At the far ends of the sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition
- Traction Tech 2.0 - Improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of your board. features three bumps per edge (front binding, board center, back binding)
- FSC Bamboo Surf Core - Re-designed triple density Bamboo Surf wood core that features primarily paulownia stringers with bamboo stringers positioned in the pocket of the sidecut for better edge response and turn power
- Eco-Plastic Topsheet - Bio-plastic topsheet made from Castor beans. This eco-material is ultralight, chip/scratch resistant and water/snow repellent (snow sticks less to topsheet)
- Oversized Recycled Edges - All Jones boards are made with oversized recycled steel edges for added durability and improved production sustainability
- Recycled Round ABS Sidewalls - Rounded sidewall finish that improves board durability by protecting topsheet from chipping. New rounded sidewall finish that improves board durability by protecting topsheet from chipping
- Flax/Basalt Stringers - Jones exclusive sustainable stringer made with 100% natural fibers. Composite Flax and Basalt stringer helps transfer power to the edges, improves torsional response and absorbs board chatter
- Biax Fibreglass - A dual-direction, dual-layer, stitched fiberglass laminate that provides a fun, forgiving and snappy ride
- Carve Pack Inserts - Allows more centered stance option for riding firm snow
- Sintered 8000 Base - Super durable material made from Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) and carbon. Base is easily repairable, highly wax absorbent and wicked fast
- Wend Natural Wax - Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with WEND natural wax
- Bio Resin - All Jones boards are now built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy
- Factory Tuned - All Jones Snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go right from the shop to the mountains
