Benefiting from advanced technology passed down from its high-tech predecessors, the Disruption 78C boasts features that outshine other skis within its price category. With a Speed Rocker profile, Dark Matter Damping, and the lightweight agility derived from our carbon I-Beam construction, this ski is designed for speed and performance, enabling you to keep pace with the top performers on the slopes.
The Disruption is built with K2's revolutionary Dark Matter Dampening (DMD) technology. This consists of a layer of polymer and carbon, laid on top of each other and placed along the contact points on the ski edge to provide an unparalleled blend of smoothness and edge grip. The DMD combined with the early rise speed rocker tip makes for effortless turn initiation, enabling the ski to tackle all kinds of conditions on the mountainside.
To add torsional rigidity to make the ski the ultimate piste-performing weapon, the Disruption has Carbon I Beam technology. Full-length carbon runs from tip to tail, providing increased responsiveness and energy along the entire length of the ski. Edge grip is further enhanced with K2’s PowerWall, an oversized ABS sidewall extended and laminated into the core of the ski under the binding. No matter what the conditions are like on the piste, these Ti-reinforced skis will let you blast through everything and grip everything.
The Disruption 78C has a 78mm waist width which is excellent for pistes and wide enough for the more adventurous to play around in fresh snow. There is also a small early rise in the tips, allowing the skis to smoothly glide over rough or cut-up terrain.
The Disruption 78C comes with M3 11 Compact Quikclik bindings mounted on a track system and will perform whether you carving through early morning groomers or slashing the afternoon chop.
- Darkmatter Dampening - A polymeric damper sandwiched between two layers of high-modulous carbon strategically placed along the ski edge to eliminate high-frequency vibrations, providing drastically increased edge grip at high speeds
- Carbon I-Beam - Full-length unidirectional carbon running from tip to tail, providing increased accuracy and energy along the entire length of the ski with a lighter, livelier feel than our Titanal I-Beam
- Powerwall - Power transfer to the ski's edges is dramatically enhanced with oversized ABS sidewalls that are laminated and pocketed within the wood core in the midbody of the ski
