If you charge on pistes but like to play around in fresh snow, bumps, and variable terrain too, then the 2017 K2 iKonic 80Ti skis are definitely worth looking at. No matter what terrain, no matter what snow you're blessed with, these Ti reinforced skis will leave you smiling well after the last lifts.
The 80Ti skis build on the reputation K2 successfully created for this range with the introduction of the Konic technology last year. The cores are designed to feature different densities of woods in key areas; high density wood near the rails transfers power whilst lightweight wood in the middle gives strength without adding unnecessary weight. These skis use a carefully chosen blend of Fir and Aspen woods to create a perfect Konic balance! To facilitate hard piste charging these skis feature hybrid sidewall technology which gives a strong sidewall in the underfoot area of the ski. Furthermore the construction is bolstered with a full metal laminate and triaxial fibre wrap, no doubt about it these skis are built for fun!
These skis are stiffer than the regular iKonic 80 skis, so we would recommend this model for those of you who favour speed and power!
The iKonic 80 Ti has an 80mm waist width which is excellent for pistes and wide enough for the more adventurous to play around in fresh snow. There is also has a small early rise in the tips, this allows the skis to smoothly glide over rough or cut up terrain.
Tapered Tip - The widest part of the ski is brought further back to reduce tip weight and increase soft snow performance. The tapered tip makes exiting a turn easier and gives a predictable, yet playful feel
K2 Konic Technology - A dense and strong core near the edges of the ski, combines with a light core in the centre. The result is strength exactly where it's needed, but with no unnecessary weight. This makes for powerful turns, and super smooth transitions!
Aspen / Fir - Paired with the Konic technology, lively Aspen wood runs through the centre of the core to give a powerful and consistent flex, whilst dense Fir runs along the perimeter of the ski for maximum power transfer to the edges
Triaxial Braid - Interlocking strands of fibreglass surround the core to increase torsional rigidity without affecting the lively flex patterns found in a true wood core
Hybritech Sidewalls - Half sidewall for precision and control, with half cap construction for a more durable and lightweight ski with easy turn initiation
Metal Laminate - A full length metal laminate beefs up the ski to give more power and response where and when you need it
All Terrain Rocker - 70% camber underfoot gives grip and power on piste, whilst 30% rocker in the nose aids flotation in powder, and reduces the effort needed to initiate a turn
Marker MXC 12 - Triple Pivot toe and Twin cam heal, this gives all mountain performance and safety in a durable package
