About the Karakoram Prime X-Carbon

The X-Carbon is Karakoram's lightest binding, a precision-engineered workhorse that you can depend on when you're on long tours in the backcountry.

As the name would suggest, the X-Carbon uses Carbon Highbacks that utilise a biaxial weave and multi-layer layup to provide a combination of stiffness and comfort. Karakoram have included their Dual Ride-Stride Forward Lean adjustment that allows for you to switch between Walk and ride mode really easily, allowing you to conserve energy whether touring or riding. The X-Carbon is also compatible with Karakoram's Flex-Lock for increased performance.

The X-Carbon uses the Open Chassis, which reduces the impact of the binding on the torsional flex of the board, allowing it to twist naturally under the binding and improving edge to edge control. Karakoram bindings also use Active Joining which pre-loads the board to give instant response.

Karakoram have used their Asymmetric heel cup in the construction of the X-Carbon with a high sidewall for lateral support, providing better power transfer and grip while side-hilling and a low sidewall that allows the ankle to flex medially.

Air-Pod ankle straps are made from P-Lite TPE which is 30% lighter than standard TPE and they feature independent Pressure Pods that articulate to your boot to eliminate pressure points. While the Airstrap is Karakoram's lightest ever toe strap, vital for any backcountry tour.

Karakoram have used Aluminium hardware which includes custom screws and hollow pins, reducing weight while maintaining performance. The Super Pivot ratchets are super lightweight while remaining robust and durable.
