A wide toe-box construction allows Keen’s Terghee III to accommodate a range of foot shapes thus making it an ideal boot for first-time hikers. With a design and material based on the award-winning Targhee Boot, this shoe variant offers the same level of performance but in a lighter, smaller package.
The upper of the Targhee III is made from a conglomerate of leather and performance mesh, the combination of these materials ensures a supple, lightweight design. The fabric is lined with Keen Dry, a proprietary waterproof but breathable membrane to ensure your feet stay dry regardless of the conditions. Moreover, the shoe rolls up to encompass the toe-box to offer added protection.
The Keen All-Terrain rubber outsole unit is mounted through direct injection moulding forming a low-density EVA midsole that provides a high level of underfoot cushioning. The Keen All-Terrain utilises 4mm multi-directional aggressive lugs to provide traction on a variety of terrains.
Dual-density PU foam is fitted to the footbed for additional arch support for first-time hikers. This, combined with both the moulded collar and cushion panel under the Achilles, makes the Targhee III comfortable out of the box. To ensure support for a lightweight boot, Keen have also fitted an ESS shank to provide structural rigidity and lessening any potential fatigue experienced on a hike.
A TPU heel-capture system offers additional stability and reduces the effects of heel lift, one of the primary causes of blisters on the heel.
The Terghee III is suited for day-hikers due to its highly durable construction and metatomical footbed design that provides arch support throughout the course of the day. Keen Dry lined so your feet will remain dry whilst out on the trail.
