The Infinity Mammut climbing rope is a quality rope which comes in a 9.5mm diameter making it super lightweight. You will be able to tell the difference when you are carrying it to and from the crag compared to other ropes.
Thanks to its COATINGfinish it offers really nice handling for both the climber and belayer. The coating is made of Teflon which is the same material used in non-stick pans. Essentially what this coating does is extend the life and durability of the rope by keeping friction and wear to a minimum.
Nice and supple, you can rest assured the Infinity will not fatten out or stiffen up after the first couple uses. The Infinity features a DRY treatment which means the rope has been dry-treated throughout the core and sheath so the whole rope is impregnated. The DRY treatment ensures effective and durable protection while improving handling, resistance to friction, and durability.
The new Infinity adheres to the UIAA's new dry test which states that in order for a rope to be labelled as DRY it must absorb less than 5% or less water after a series of tests. The Infinity absorbs 1.5% after the tests, earning it the UIAA Water Repellent safety label. Furthermore, the Infinity is Bluesign approved so you know that at every point of production, the most eco-friendly method and yarns have been selected to create this rope.
This rope is aimed towards sports climbers and trad climbers, great for multi-pitch climbs and will hold its own in wetter conditions but can of course be used as an indoor gym rope too. So if you are looking to purchase 1 rope to tick all the boxes, the Infinity is a serious contender.
