About the Mammut Neon Smart

The Neon Smart is a sport/gym climber’s best friend, with a multitude of interior gear loops and pockets it allows for easy categorisation of hardwear, harnesses, shoes and other necessities. What separates the Neon Smart from other crag bags on the market is it’s unique ability to zip completely open thus form a climbing racking platform.

The interior of the bag features 3 zipped mesh pockets of varying sizes to allow for easy stowing of bulkier items. In addition to the zippered pockets there is a small elasticated mesh pouch for smaller items. Three gear loops sit above the main zippered pouch for effortless racking, and allow hard wear weight to sit comfortably on the upper back. In addition to hard wear storage, the pack also includes a removable rope tarp/bag but also features a rope hanging option for exterior carry. Moreover an outer zippered pocket allows for valuables to be kept close at hand.

Keeping with crag bag tradition the Neon smart has a frameless design allowing for significant weight reduction. However, for improved comfort the pack does feature an EVA foam back panel to protect your back from hardwear and with air channels for ventilation.

The main body of the bag is constructed from 420D Nylon Cross Ripstop, this high density durable synthetic fabric offers a phenomenal strength to weight ratio. It is ideal for those dragging their packs across the granite faces of Stanage. The remainder of the pack is made from 840D nylon in order to reduce weight but also to provide a degree of resilience.

The Neon Smart from mountain hardwear offers a new take on the traditional crag bag design, with a forward facing grab handle for ease of transport and the ability to open up completely the pack gives climbers new organisational capabilities for crag and sport climbing.
