About the Montane Extreme
The Extreme Jacket from Montane is essential for any outdoor enthusiast. The first truly technical softshell single-layer mountain jacket, it has become a modern classic. Constructed to have an outer shell made of PERTEX® QUANTUM fabric, the Extreme Jacket is highly windproof, breathable, and fast-drying. Re-inforced tough POLARDRI® Mini-Rip in the elbow protects against abrasive rock surfaces, and DRYACTIV 3000 deep pile lining throughout wicks sweat from the skin, dries fast, and aids warmth retention, providing warmth and breathability even when wet.
Designed to allow flexibility, the arms have been articulated for high-reach movement and tailored to reduce hem lift, with an adjustable hem too to prevent spindrift entry and heat loss.
The Extreme Jacket uses a MONTANE® Cross-Vent system to aid cooling even during vigorous activity, and also provides plenty of storage, with two deep A-line hand-warmer pockets positioned well clear of backpack straps or harness belts, and a chest pocket for all easy access essentials. The jacket has adjustable cuffs with grab tabs, and a d-ring sewn at the forearm to make sure you can easily attach and use gloves and mitts.
To provide extra comfort and warmth, the Extreme Jacket has a soft fleece beardguard at the inner collar, and to add versatility, it has a fully adjustable and removable pile-lined hood that features a three-point adjustment, a wired peak, and is of course helmet-compatible too.
