About the Ortovox Free Rider
The Ortovox Free Rider 18 men's snowboard/ski backpack is ideal for shorter freeride and backcountry adventures. With space for storing essentials and the facility to carry skis or a snowboard, snowshoes, ice axe, helmet and poles on the exterior, as well as an integrated back protector.
The Free Rider has rapid access to the main compartment and shovel and probe storage from both the back and from the circumferential zipper on the front. The inside has a bright colour in order to make visibility as clear as possible for ease of use and gaining vital seconds in the case of emergency. It also has a wide hip belt for optimal fit and chest strap with alarm whistle.
The Free Rider 18 features D (diagonal) ski fix giving you the option to carry skis or split splitboard attached to the pack, as well as the facility to carry a snowboard or snowshoes. There are loops for ice axe and pole fastening and a removable helmet net, as well as hydration system compatibility.
The Free rider features an SPS Flex back protector combining the back system and back protector into one flexible unit of eight SAS-TEC protective foam pads that adapts to the body and absorbs impact. The back protector is TÜV-certified.
