About the Ortovox Peak 40 Dry
Every Alpine challenge is calling you this season. Whether you’re on Dent Blanche surrounded by mighty glaciers or on the protruding Weisshorn in the Valais Alps, the Peak Dry 40 backpack by Ortovox is your ultimate companion for demanding alpine tours.
The Peak Dry 40 combines stability, wear, comfort, and lightweight features in a functional high alpine touring pack. This pack has been designed to offer all-weather protection. From rain to snow, Ortovox wants you to feel confident in your equipment, knowing that your belongings will be kept protected and dry. All seams are waterproof as well as the waterproof zips and the outer coating is PVC free, which helps you do your bit for the environment.
The total weight of 1.44kg can be reduced by a further 310g by simply removing the top, hip fins, wireframe for the back, and other external fastening options. A minimal 1130g of weight widens your range of use so your alpine tours can continue for longer in comfort!
The Swisswool-Tec-Knit System stands for the intricate detailing of a technical foam back with heat-pressed Swiss wool, covered with a 3D High-Tec knitted fabric. The wool pads are placed on the locations that come in contact with the back, storing large volumes of water without feeling moist!
The Peak Dry 40 is specifically designed for long alpine tours. These packs are very robust, yet incredibly lightweight thanks to being manufactured with the extremely tear and abrasion-resistant material Nylon 420D Oxford. This Nylon fabric is one of the lightest materials Ortovox uses in the design of all of their backpacks.
Just because this bag has 40 litres of volume, Ortovox hasn’t sacrificed anything important. Still, they concentrate on all of the important features such as rope and ice axe fixation, load control cords, a helmet net, material loops, hip pocket, a map compartment, and the classic circumferential zipper which lets you gain quick access and get to your supplies quickly and easily.
Safety equipment is held securely inside thanks to the safety attachment. With your safety considered, the standard Ortovox features include an emergency card, a chest strap with a signal whistle, a compression strap, bright interior colour, hydration system compatibility, and a ski holder.
These carefully considered features, the low weight, and the innovative back system make the Peak Dry 40 a highly functional alpine touring backpack, perfect for your next alpine adventure.
