About the Osprey Kestrel 48

Made from tough recycled nylon, the Kestrel is the workhorse of the Osprey brand - redefining what an all-mountain backpack can be. With an array of features for every outdoor activity, it is capable of doing it all. From overnight camping trips to winter climbs, the Kestrel excels.

LightWire 3.5 suspension forms the foundation of the Kestrel. It transfers the load of the pack directly into the Spacermesh harness and hip belt, improving weight carry. With an Airscape back panel that features a rigid mesh-covered foam to promote ventilation, the Kestrel sets the standard for comfort on the trail.

The large capacity Kestrel 48 is designed to be a do-everything mountain bag, optimised for carrying lots of equipment for use over multiple days. Access to the gear is effortless thanks to a large U-shaped zipper which permits quick access to items in the front panel. This allows for additional organisation when packing and sorting equipment. Coupled with a traditional top lid drawcord for access and a lower compartment with a removable sleeping bag divider, the Kestrel provides an array of categorisation options.

Nylon-reinforced water bottle pockets provide a durable means of storing the essentials and those with a preference for reservoirs will be pleased to know that the pack is hydration system compatible. Dual hip belt pockets combined with a large, front shove-it pocket facilitate the carry of those must-have essentials. A top lid pocket keeps maps and larger items on hand, while a key clip keeps those must-haves safe.

To set the standard of a modern, all-outdoor bag, the Kestrel comes equipped with an integrated/detachable rain cover for those sudden showers on the trail. Stow-on-the-Go allows you to stash walking poles without needing to remove the bag, for those times when you need both hands for a scramble.

An array of webbing and compression straps allow for carrying larger items such as sleeping pads. There's an ice axe attachment loop too, so you can carry winter hardware ready for venturing into the unknown.

The Kestrel line opens up the possibility of tackling mountainous terrain, deep forests, and long-distance trails. It sets an industry standard for the all-outdoor bag, letting you carry heavier loads in complete comfort.
