Behold the pinnacle of all-mountain performance. The Mutant 22 is the climbing backpack for day-long adventures on rock and ice from Osprey.

The smallest version of the Mutant line the 22 is designed to carry all of your climbing hardware for a day in the mountains. A year-round pack the Mutant 22 will be your faithful companion for spicy summer climbs to harsh winter ascents.

Unlike hiking packs, the Mutant features a Snowshed fabric back panel. The panel allows for the comfortable carry of heavy loads yet removes the issue of snow sticking to the pack when it is dumped in the snow.

Winter climbers will benefit from Dual ToolLock loops which facilitate the carry of ice axes. For both summer and colder climbs, the hip belt can be removed or reversed and wrapped to allow for better access to a harness.

Access to the main body of the Mutant 22 is the reverse-opening top zipper, this allows for bucket loading, in addition to providing ease of accessing equipment. A top compression strap on the underside of the lid can be threaded outwards to double as a rope stay. A zippered valuables pocket can be found under the lid.
