About the Petzl Tour

The Tour harness is super lightweight harness from Petzl built for mountaineering and skiing, with a focus on durability and ruggedness in all climates. This harness can be put on while wearing skis or crampons, and the DoubleBack buckle and tightening strap adjust smoothly without requiring to be threaded back, and is easy to operate even with gloves on, making this harness ideal for colder climes.

Due to the materials used in its construction, and the FRAME Technology used, the Tour harness from Petzl has an excellent weight/durability ratio.

FRAME Technology
Petzl’s FRAME Technology combines a thick layer of foam with central webbing on the waistbelt and leg loops, and the weight is distributed by the webbing that surrounds the foam. The use of FRAME Technology provides great durability and comfort during prolonged suspension on a climb. Weight is distributed between the waistbelt and leg loops, and pressure points are lined with soft fabric, all adding up to more comfortable climbing experience.

To make life easier the Tour harness has been designed with optimal simplicity, compactness and has clever features with mountaineering and skiing in mind. This includes the very useful colour coding which allows you to instantly identify the inside and outside of straps, as well as a streamlined designed, meaning less snags and catches. Four equipment loops completely integrated into the harness minimise interference when wearing a backpack, while each leg loop has a keeper with a siliconized interior, for positioning an ice screw.
