About the Salomon HPS
Part of the Salomon Hillside Collection, the 2022 Salomon HPS snowboard has been designed & crafted by Wolfgang Nyvelt for the ultimate backcountry freeride experience. This wide board and shape offer the perfect rider stance for superb balance in deep pow, yet has great responsive edge-to-edge performance allowing you to have the most incredible time on the mountain.
The HPS - Wolle Nyvelt snowboard features ABS Sidewalls to act as suspension improving landings, smoothing out chatter, and increasing the board's durability. Salomon's Quadratic Sidecut enables riders to carve with ease and precision, whilst aiding with turn initiations, the result being fluid edge-to-edge transitions.
The Backseat camber also adds to the snowboard's incredible backcountry performance. The addition of a cambered section under the back foot offers the rider explosive power to maximise turning ability and a flat section under the front foot out into the nose provides freedom of board movement and dramatically improved float and fun when riding in powder.
Built using the Ghost Green Core, Salomon uses carefully selected materials to optimise pop & performance whilst reducing weight. This combined with super light & sustainable Paulownia wood, plus the Biaxial medium density fibreglass layup ensures a consistent lively board feel and performance through the life of the board.
Salomon's Popster tech shapes the core to maximise the natural snap of the wood. To do this the wood core is thicker at the centre of the board then tapers out to thinner sections then thickens again towards the nose and tail, this creates an insane amount of powerful pop!
The quadratic sidecut makes changing direction effortless during the transition between edges & is combined with a lightning-fast sintered EG base that gives you silky-smooth glide on fresh powder.
