So iLL have reimagined the Free Range with the Free Range Pro. The shoe has stepped up with a stiffer toe box with more rubber coverage and improved heel. The Free Range Pro shoe is named aptly for advanced climbers looking for an extremely precise shoe that will stick to tiny edges as well as it will conform to awkward volumes.
Whatever position you need your feet to be in, the So iLL Free Range Pro climbing shoes will accommodate them with plenty more rubber around the toe and heel than the Free Range. Precision and control is what you get from the Free Range Pro's stiff toe box and optimised highly tensioned heel which locks your foot into place and holds on even in aggressive and high heel hooks.
The V shaped closure system uses one angled strap to pull the shoe into place from under the foot and across the top in such a way that all air pockets are wrapped out and the volume is reduced for a perfect fit.
The Free Range Pro is made with a synthetic Vegan-friendly upper that keeps the shape of the shoe over time without stretching out. So iLL's specially sourced Dark Matter Rubber covers the shoe and was originally designed as a sticky sole for military-grade shoes. If the rubber is good enough for the Navy Seals on their approaches, it's definitely good enough to push you up a grade or two!
