About the Volkl Confession
The new 2020 Volkl Confession freeride skis are the skis of choice for many of Volkl's respected freeride athletes. These skis facilitate hard riding in deep conditions and big terrain. If you're ready for some extreme fun then pick up a pair of Confessions and get ready to drop in!
Stability during tight turns, hard landings, and high speeds is what makes or breaks a freeride ski - the Volkl Confession is as tough as they come. A Titanal band runs down the centre of the ski and absorbs vibration whilst giving a strong flex, this allows riders to confidently go bigger than ever.
The 117 mm waist width gives excellent flotation in powder and creates a solid platform for balanced landings. Whilst these skis are built for powder and steeps, the full length sidewall gives grip for navigating around the pistes and between lifts.
These skis are powerful and have a fairly stiff flex, as a result they are best for advanced or expert riders who spend the majority of their time away from the pistes.
- Multi-layer Wood Core - Multiple woods are used to give the desired combination of stability, power, and flex. Materials are chosen to give the correct qualities with no unnecessary weight. Dense wood in the centre gives screw retention whilst softer wood in the tips and tails creates snap and resilience
- Titanal Band - Titanal is a carefully engineered aluminium alloy which has excellent strength at a low weight. A band of this material runs along the centre of the ski to give the support needed to charge big lines and land big drops
- Full Sidewall - The best way to transfer power onto the snow, a full sidewall ensures turns are accurate and strong
- Tip and Tail Rocker - A small amount of camber underfoot creates stability on landings and allows the rider to negotiate pistes. A large amount of rocker in the tip keeps the ski afloat in deep snow, whilst rise in the tail makes the ski more nimble by increasing ease of turn exit
- Carbon Stringer - Carbon is used to increase strength whilst also keeping weight down, it helps dampen vibration and improves the flex in both directions
