About the Volkl Secret 92
The 2021 Secret 92 continues its formula of using a titanal frame and carbon tips to offer the balance between stability and maneuverability.
It features a 92mm waist which improves its on-piste abilities by making it quicker and easier to get on edge. Further to the reduction in waist width the Secret now features a titanal frame, rather than the full titanal layup that it had in previous seasons. In reducing the amount of metal present in the ski it has been made more nimble, playful, and user friendly.
Whilst the Secret is now more suited than it ever has been to intermediate skiers it is certainly not lacking in performance for advanced/expert skiers. To compensate for the lack of metal in the tip of the ski Volkl has added carbon tips that provide excellent levels of torsional stiffness without a large amount of added weight. These lightweight but stable tips allow you to ski hard and fast all over the mountain with Volkl's renowned edges allowing you to cut through firm conditions without a second thought.
One of the highlights of the Secret 92 is the 3 radius sidecut. Due to the geometry of the side cut and depending on the rider's speed the effective edge can become shorter for agile turns and longer for strong carves on fresh groomers. It enables the ski to be both stable and maneuverable, which is something a traditional titanal ski couldn't achieve.
Not only does the 2021 Secret excel in-bounds but it retains its ability to go anywhere with deep rocker lines providing good amounts of float and the moderate taper making it easy to initiate turns in soft, off-piste snow. This full sidewall, directional charger is well suited to a variety of ability levels and is an excellent choice for skiers looking for one ski to do it all, with a slight focus more towards in-bounds skiing.
