The Wild Country Ropeman 2 is an ultralight ascender that can be used with a wide range of rope diameters and is extremely smooth to operate.
The Ropeman is an ultralight and tiny spring-loaded ascender that is ideal for alpine climbing. Designed for 8-13mm ropes as an emergency ascender, it can be carried discreetly and weighs less than some carabiners!
However, the Ropeman has many more uses than was first expected. It was not only being used to replace ‘prussiks’ as a rescue tool but guides started using it in combination with magic plates and on bolt belays to protect clients as well as a host of other activities such as being used as an autobloc for lowering and hauling loads, for crevasse rescue, as a pulley and much more.
This latest addition features hot forged side plates, a stainless steel cam, and a high strength stainless steal axel and cable leash.
