About the Black Diamond Prime

The Black Diamond Prime is a super comfortable, sticky, and durable approach shoe that is perfect for scrambling and hiking on rocky trails. It also makes a great lifestyle shoe and can be worn on a casual everyday basis.

The Prime has a durable and premium suede upper that offers reliable weather protection while allowing your feet to breathe. Inspired by climbing shoe construction, the upper also has a rubber toe cap for extra protection.

The BlackLabel-Street sticky rubber outsole supplies supreme grip and protects your feet while you tackle a variety of terrains, whilst the molded EVA midsole works to keep your feet comfortable. Webbing loops also allow for various tagging and stowing options.

The Black Diamond Prime is ideal for approaches to the crag, light scrambles, and rocky trails. Light and low profile enough to chuck in your rucksack, these shoes are the perfect companion for day hikes, yet can double up as an everyday shoe for wearing around town.

Sizes are probably 1.5 smaller than UK sizes so be aware order 1.5 larger. Had to send back and re-order

Great shoe with good grip and style. I recommend an extra insole and also the shoe size is definitely a smaller fit by 0.5-1 UK size (I've had other Black Diamond approach shoes that fit normally). Definitely recommended!

I wanted a shoe that I could wear around town and for climbing demos when instructing indoor climbing AND that I could wear to the crag! These shoes do it ALL! It took my days a couple days to get used to the slightly narrower toebox than my last “street shoes” but it’s worth it to be able to tighten up the laces and comfortably lead a climb.
