About the Black Diamond Serac Strap

The Serac Strap Crampon from Black Diamond delivers an all-around crampon for the variable, moderate terrain of classic mountaineering routes and glacier travel.

A rocker in the front rail accommodates modern mountain boots with a C1 style binding (malleable toe and heel cradle) designed to fit B1, B2 & B3 welted/non-welted mountain boots. A low-profile micro-adjustable heel bail offers precision fit while a strap fastening system loops across the instep and secures them to the foot quickly and easily for added security.

The Serac features a 12-point design with a lightweight stainless steel frame. Horizontal frontpoints provide secure bite in icy steeps while the classic secondary points and substantial rear points offer stability on descents and low-angle terrain.

The Stainless steel construction means that the crampons won't rust or deteriorate through exposure to the elements and will provide tough, stable support without weighing you down. They're also free of any protective coatings which can sometimes contain nasty toxic chemicals that will break down and wear off over time.
