About the Boreal Flyers

The Boreal Flyers is a classicly constructed approach shoe with a lacing system that runs down to the toe-box, in order to tailor the shoes to the terrain of the approach.

Constructed from 2mm split leather the upper is exceptionally durable. Boreal has opted not to include a waterproof membrane to maximise the natural breathability and warmth of the fabric. As a result not only are your feet protected but they are also kept ventilated and warm.

The Flyers feature Boreal's own Approach Pattern sole the specialised tread provides traction and stability on rock lips. For improved grip on wet or slabby terrain, the sole unit is coated in Zenith Dura approach formula. The compound improves the friction of the unit, for added security on scrambles.

To complement the outsole the midsole of the shoe is constructed from Boreal PXF with shock absorbing EVA. The softer mould around the heel allows for improved comfort whilst walking. A Thick rubber rand runs up from the sole to encompass both the toe and heel, improving protection of the upper and promoting durability.

For improved wicking the shoes have a PU Airnet lining, this not only improves the ventilation of the shoe but adds a degree of padding for comfort.

The Boreal Flyers are an ideal companion for approaching crags and to tackle challenging scrambles. With an outsole coated in Zenith Dura compound, they provide sublime grip on surfaces, allowing you to focus on your route.
