Dolomite debuted in 1897, operating in a factory and opened the Fabbrica Scarpe Montello Store, by 17 year old Guiseppe Garbuio. Many high-profile mountaineers have conquered peaks in Dolomite footwear. These include the 1954 Italian expedition to summit K2 and the 1960 Swiss expedition to summit Dhaulagiri in the Himalayas. In 1966, the Italian Alpine Club of Carate Brianza and Gruppo Ragni of Lecco reached the 71° Parallel North in Greenland. This has helped the brand cement itself internationally and continue to make high-performance footwear on a global scale.
